Distance travelled: towards a PIE services assessment and specification tool
8: PIEs assessment tool development funding: initial options appraisal
This work would be modestly labour intensive; but even so, it would need to be funded – especially where there may be issues of intellectual property, such as if use or adaptation of another existing model, might be appropriate. Various options are discussed here.
- An ‘entrepreneurial’ model
- A ‘public benefit model’
- A ‘public programme model’
NB Other funding models however are possible, such as:
- A ‘major sponsor’ model,
- A ‘crowd funding’
- A ‘freemium’ model
These alternatives we will discuss in subsequent iterations.
