PIEs 2.0 and the Pizazz assessment framework

Over the past year, through many recursive stage discussion and an on-line working party, a new overall framework of concepts for PIEs has now fully emerged.

We call this new formulation 'PIEs 2.0', as we are now all familiar with one of the key principles in software development: backwards compatibility. That is: any software upgrade must aim to add new functionality, to resolve bugs in the earlier versions; but work you had done earlier using the older version must still work, with the new version.

So it is with PIEs 2.0. You will find an early outline of the new model in video form - prepared for the working party - HERE: https://youtu.be/KBLmM8Jyfko

And you can trace the development via a couple of areas on the PIElink.

"Is the PIE evolving" traces the whole history of development of the ideas - HERE: http://pielink.net/is-the-pie-evolving/

And there is a summary of the development process specifically for PIEs 2.0, HERE: http://pielink.net/pies-2-0-the-development-process/

This PIEs 2.0 framework has been devised in part at least in order to provide a clearer and more secure foundation for the self assessment tool, the PIzzazz, based in observable features of a services's work.

The Pizazz is currently being piloted; and the on-going development of that process will be described in more detail in a subsequent update.
