Two 'guidance' documents were published by the UK government (in 2010 and 2012 respectively):

'Non-statutory guidance on meeting the psychological and emotional needs of people who are homeless' : HERE 

Psychologically informed services: operational guidance : HERE

NB: These two government-backed documents effectively launched the PIEs approach as recommended practice, in the UK. But it was to be some years before the full detailed framework on PIEs in practice was developed (HERE).

NB (2):  'The Book of PIE' was eventually published under a different title: 'Psychologically Informed Environments from the ground up:  Service design for complex needs'. Robin Johnson, 2023: (HERE)

  • To date there has not yet been the second edition that was proposed under the new title.
